Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario runs an annual fundraising event to support people living with epilepsy and their families across the region. For the 2022 edition, they needed a visual identity that could carry the event across print, merch, and social a visual design that would feel warm and human rather than clinical.
The central concept is simple and intentional: a community of hands gathered around a brain, offering comfort. Epilepsy is often misunderstood and isolating; the illustration pushes back against that by making connection and care the visual anchor of everything. The wordmark was developed to work in tandem with the illustration, carrying the same warmth into typographic form.
The event poster translates the illustration into a format designed for people to stop, bold enough to land on a wall, considered enough to invite a second look.
Merch design extended the identity into wearable form, items sold at the event to raise additional funds and give attendees something to take home. Getting the illustration to work at t-shirt scale, required thinking about how the design simplifies without losing its character.
Social assets adapted the identity for digital promotion and maintaining visual consistency across formats while optimizing for the specific constraints of each platform.
